The first large mosaic from the studio and the first large at all in a few years...lots of fun and I'm kind of digging the colors...got this piece waxed and polished on Friday, ready for getting this piece into a Gainesville gallery later next week...will advise if successful.

Finished this piece on Friday. It polished up very nicely and has more of a copper feel to it although nicely mitered in lead channel (came). I liked it in the indirect light more than I did the direct light...either way, Enjoy!

Soft opening...eww!

This is what happens sometimes when you decide to open your art studio in a remodeled farm shed that originally had no doors to speak of since it had been built...there has been a tussle or two with a few other critters but I think we're pretty clearly established as the primary tenant now...even after this enthusiastic attempt...

Proud and happy....

I now have some very real space in a very real pastoral setting, complete with cows and donkeys in the pastures, birds and wildlife all around me, and some wonderful blue and orange skies that this area is known for. There was room for a small gallery, active mosaicing along with glass projects, and woodworking space. This awesome space comes with 360 degrees of farm or forest view and a covered front deck that's about as big as the shop floor is. A really nice space...

A welcome stranger...

Late last summer during the remodel and shortly after Hurricane Irma, I was visited by this very handsome hunting dog who seemed to sense that she was in a safe place. She looked as if she had gotten caught in a muck swamp as she was covered in mud up to her withers and she looked exhausted, as if she'd been up all night, fighting her way out of trouble.
